
Auckland Basketball Services LTD is delighted to announce the appointment of Claire Hamilton as their new Chief Executive Officer.
Claire began her career studying and working in accountancy in Christchurch and Auckland. Following four years working overseas in the UK and Ireland and starting a family Claire focused her career within the NZ sporting landscape working in funding and competition administration for Northern Football. During this time she managed a team in the National Women’s League and the New Zealand Football
Women’s team for the U17 World Cup Azerbaijan campaign. This progressed to a full-time role as International Teams Manager for the New Zealand Football Ferns planning and managing tours for over 50 matches including the Women’s World Cup in Canada 2015 and the Rio Olympics 2016. Claire also oversaw the age-group women’s campaigns during this time.
After five years with the Football Ferns Claire moved to the role of General Manager National Operations for Graeme Dingle Foundation, an organisation supporting youth development across NZ. Then the opportunity came up in early 2022 to take a role as Competition Manager NZL for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 which was completed in early September.
Claire has been involved in all facets of sport including as a participant, coach, referee, and club committee member and knows how amazing and important being involved in sport can be. Claire is married to Karl and has two children, Scott, 21 and Olivia, 18.
Claire takes up her role on 2 October 2023.
